ABOUT ME

Fuelled by my passion to be a scientific researcher, after being captured by Mendelian Genetics in high school, I chose to pursue Bachelor’s in Biotechnology from D.Y. Patil University, Navi Mumbai. To complement my interest in genetic counselling, I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Counselling, during my dissertation in the field of cytogenetics at MGM Hospital, Vashi.

I completed my MSc in Medical Genetics and Genomics at the University of Glasgow, Scotland with a scholarship and thereafter spent 1.5 years as a researcher at the Centre of Medical Genetics in Antwerp, Belgium, leading a project on Hereditary Hearing Loss. Currently, I utilize my skillset in the field of Clinical Genomics, Pharmacogenomics and Epigenetics. I am also a Rare Disease enthusiast. Having observed a significant lack of awareness, particularly in the realm of genetics and medical genetics, I decided to start this blog. I also give webinars (link below), which attract students and professionals alike. My goal is to simplify complex topics, fostering education and awareness. I hope you find value in exploring this intricate subject and gain a deeper appreciation for the profound role genetics plays in shaping our very existence.​
